Lesotho's Electoral Landscape at a Glance
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) ensures that democracy reaches every corner of Lesotho.
Lesotho’s vibrant democracy is reflected in the 59 registered political parties that contest in elections. Each party contributes to a diverse and competitive political landscape guided by the rule of law.
Lesotho is divided into 80 constituencies, each representing a unique voice in the democratic process. These constituencies form the basis for fair representation in parliamentary elections across the country.
With over 1,650 voting stations nationwide, the IEC ensures accessible and efficient voting for all citizens. These stations are strategically located to serve even the most remote communities.
